This is my story

Hi! I'm Gaby. I'm a Spanish Venezuelan photographer, writer, multidisciplinary storyteller and PADI Ambassadiver™. Born in Caracas to Spanish-Venezuelan parents, I was raised in Madrid until adulthood. Since then, I have pursued a variety of endeavours around the world. Over the past decade, I have lived in the UK (Scotland), China, Australia and Switzerland.

Creation, communication and the natural world have always fascinated me. An inquisitive child, I used to spend my time between books, drawing and recording my thoughts down on paper. I begun my journey behind the lens as a teenager, but my creativity only became a "serious endeavour" in my late 20s.

My passion for language and stories brought me to study Linguistics and English Literature. My enthusiasm for protecting the planet led to research within the field of the Environmental Humanities as part of my Master’s in Literature at the University of Edinburgh. My desire to have an impactful career drew me into the field of education, which, following my curiosity and thirst for exploration, translated into six transformative years working at multiple schools in Mainland China.

Following a growing need to align more closely with my personal values, I decided to step outside of the classroom in 2023 to pursue photography and story-telling as career. I moved to Australia to advance my underwater photography while exploring the wild places that inspire me so deeply.

After living on a marine protected area on the Southern Great Barrier Reef, I joined a conservation program in Raja Ampat (Indonesia), where I contributed to scientific research whilst completing my Divemasters training.

After returning to Europe, I have spent time in between Spain, Switzerland, and several remote marine regions around the world, still creating for this planet, and still seeking to make an impact to conservation through my work.
